Sodium Cyclamate (Ciclamato de Sodia)
Sodium cyclamate is a “low-calorie sweetener” that is 30-50 times sweeter than sucrose. Cyclamate is the sodium salt of cyclamic acid. In chemical terms, it is known as ‘sodium cyclohexylsufamate. Its sweet taste was accidentally discovered by Michael Sveda, a student at University of Illinois in 1937. Sodium Cyclamate is officially approved by the European Directive 94/35/EC, European number is E952.
Saccharin + Cyclamate
Sodium cyclamate is often used synergistically with other artificial sweeteners, especially saccharin to mask the aftertaste of both sweeteners. Our factories produce the mixture of cyclamate and saccharin at the ratio our customers request. Synergizing cyclamate and saccharin is also less expensive than most sweeteners, including sugar
Feature Good solubility in hot and cold water Sweet & Pure (no bitter or other unpleasant aftertaste) Good stability under heat; can be used in thermal treatment like pasteurization Economical – minimal quantity provides high sweetening effect
Introduction
Sodium cyclamate is approved to be used as a low-calorie sweetener by the British, French and Germany National Health Department.
Safe for human consumption Contains zero calories Great for cold drinks productions, especially for fruit juices or soft drinks Massively used in canning, bottling, fruit processing Great additives in the food industry (e.g. barbecue food, vinegar manufacturing etc.) Utilize in the production of pharmaceuticals products (e.g. pills and capsule production), toothpaste, cosmetic and condiment (e.g. ketcup); High purity grade; Highly stable to heat, acid and alkaline conditions; Unlike sucrose which produces fermentation and bacterium effect, sodium cyclamate has a long expiration period
Application
Used in various food productions, such as:
Ice-cream, soft drinks, cola, coffee, fruit juices, dairy products, tea, rice, pasta, canned food, pastry, bread, preservatives, syrup etc.For pharmaceutical and cosmetic manufacturing:
Sugar coating, sugar ingot, toothpaste, mouth wash and lip sticks.Daily usage for family cooking and seasoning. Suitable use for diabetes, seniors and obese people with high blood pressure or cardiovascular disease patients as replacement sugar.
